Understanding your compliance score

What the 0–100 compliance score means, how it is calculated, and how to raise it.

What the score represents

Your compliance score is a single 0–100 signal of how well your site respects visitor consent right now. Higher is better. It is a fast health check, not legal advice — but it maps closely to the obligations in US state privacy laws.

The score updates every time we scan your site, so you can watch it move as you fix issues.

How it is calculated

  • Whether trackers are blocked before consent is given.
  • Whether a clear, unbiased consent banner is present.
  • Whether consent choices are being logged.
  • Whether known high-risk or unconsented trackers were detected.
  • Whether your privacy and cookie disclosures are reachable.

Reading the bands

Roughly speaking: 85–100 is strong, 60–84 means you have gaps worth closing, and below 60 signals issues that could create real exposure.

Focus on the specific issues listed alongside the score rather than the number alone — each issue is an actionable fix.

Raising your score

  1. 1Make sure the banner loads before any trackers (see “Set up your consent banner”).
  2. 2Resolve each flagged issue in your console, highest severity first.
  3. 3Re-run a scan to confirm the fix registered.
  4. 4Keep an eye on the score over time — new third-party scripts can introduce new trackers.
Tip

A sudden score drop usually means a new marketing tag or embed started loading a tracker before consent. Check what changed recently.
